Company MAIS continues to develop its international activity. Recently the company extended membership in the American Seed Trade Association.
Next 5 years Company MAIS attention within the Association will be focused on issues of intellectual property rights and international programs.
On the information arena ASTA plans to lead a multilevel work to improve public understanding of the processes seed companies go through: research, development, post-harvest handling, and delivery of high-quality seeds to farmers, says Andrew W. LaVigne, ASTA President and CEO. Within the project ASTA has already rebranded and launched a new website BetterSeed.org, which improves the communication with the public.
Company MAIS is a member of ASTA since 1999 and during that time has established close scientific and business contacts with the representatives of seed companies in America. The activity in the Association gives Company MAIS opportunity to improve its work in the field of plant breeding and seed industry in the global context of the industry development.
Viktor Borysov, the Chairman of Company MAIS, believes that the company membership in ASTA made a great influence at the understanding of its place on the seed market of Ukraine and world and encouraged the company to improve its product quality to match global standards.
- For the 17 years cooperation with ASTA, the company has got a lot of business ties, access to up-to-date scientific and technical information, started the processes of genotyping and certification of breeding material, switched to the development of breeding programs on the basis of SNP-method genetic information, and so on,” says Viktor Borysov. Mr. Borysov adds that thanks to integration into international structures, both of scientific and business character, Ukrainian companies got a chance to be successful not only in their country market but to produce a product that is interesting for international partners.
